About Me

Hey, guys. My name is Kendra, and I am a foodie for life. I have always struggled with binge eating, fad diets, and junk food, yet at the same time, I have always loved cooking baking, and learning about new foods, cooking methods, and lifestyles.

It’s been a dream of mine for a long time to start a food blog, and I almost began one a few years ago, by the same name. I had my blog set up, but the timing just wasn’t right. I didn’t know what I know now. I didn’t have the experience necessary to distinguish between flavor profiles. I had not experimented with most food products. I didn’t even have the resources to bake or cook regularly enough to make a blog worth reading. As time has gone on, I have grown so much, culinarily. I have become well versed in writing my own recipes, and I’ve learned to do so “on the fly!” I now have much more knowledge, experience, and energy to contribute to a community, and I’m ready to create an environment full of learning, sharing, and creating.

You may have read my other blog: DIY Diary. My other passions including DIY everything. I love refinishing furniture, doing work around my house, and making improvements for as little money as possible. You may be wondering, “why not continue your blog on DIY Diary? After all, you do have recipes on your blog.” I want to focus strictly on recipes, diets, dietary changes, and healthful eating. Within the last year, my husband and I have started experimenting with diets. We wanted to see what the hype was about vegan and vegetarian lifestyles. After all, I knew several people (even my OBGYN) who were vegans and loved that lifestyle. They were thin, they were healthy (as far as I could see, anyway), and they were happy. We knew at the time, that what we ate played a huge roll in how we felt, so we decided to put our current diet to the test. This blog is where we can document our results, and maybe, our results can help you learn more about these lifestyles.

More recently, we have decided that we want to lose weight. I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl in October of 2019, and I am still holding on to plenty of “baby weight.” My husband claims to have gained a bit of “baby weight” himself, so we set our goal weight and headed to the computer to do some research.

There are so many tools that can be helpful when losing weight, and we had heard, and seen the results, of so many weight loss tools. We were intrigued by the Keto Diet. How could it be that people could eat as much fat as they wanted, but they couldn’t eat a banana or carrot? We had tried Weight Watchers in April of 2018 and had been pretty successful! We got the ads on our facebook page for Noom. We saw commercials for Jenny Craig. We walked by the Atkins Diet Nutrition Bars at the grocery store. There were SO many options. How could we possibly choose? Let’s find out.
